Retreat Week from Humble Quilts

Last year all of us decided to make the Lone Cabin quilt or at least part of the quilt. You have seen mine many times but here are the girls progress on their quilt. They are looking great!

Here is Carrie's

Michelle's

Christy's. Tada! Top done!

I think Christy and Michelle said they may only make the cabin. So much for that plan. I love them all!

We have the condo for a week but every year it is a bit different as to how long everyone can stay. We got a quick photo before Michelle had ...

Lone Cabin- Complete! from Humble Quilts

I finally finished getting the binding sewn down on the Lone Cabin quilt.
You can get info on the pattern/book HERE
It is an oldie by Red Wagon.

Many machine quilters don't like to do fan quilting, so I sent it out to a new person. Get info HERE
If you do fan quilting on your long arm, I'd love to support a Humble Quilt reader. Please contact me at humblequilts@gmail.com

I took the quilt to the PJ party at Sisters to show Carrie, since I started it at our quilt retreat last year. I ...

Lone Cabin from Humble Quilts

I got my Lone Cabin quilt back but have not had a chance to make or put a binding on it. I was excited to share it with you.

I used a new quilter on this one.
I'll have the binding ready for this winter!

2 girlfriends and I made it out to Central Washington for a big backpack trip.

BOOM! 25ish miles in rugged and beautiful country! We were in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.

Lone Cabin Top- Done! from Humble Quilts

Life has been a bit of a zoo but I've managed to get this Lone Cabin quilt top completed! YAY! I feel like the outer border is a bit too dark,   but it is too late now. It is off to the quilter!

Summer temps are in full force- love watching the birdbath!!
Deer were getting a drink from it last night. We let them get a drink before we scooted them out of the yard.

I hope you are having a lovely summer.

Stars All Around from Humble Quilts

These little stars are smaller than the first ones I made. Oh my goodness! That one on the left is hilarious! But it is primitive and I think once it is in a quilt it was be as noticeable to me. These are the 3 I managed to get together before leaving for Paducah. Once i have 3 more, I'll be read to start assembling the quilt center!

Nobody wanted the book so I guess I'll throw it away.  See the details HERE.
The book has found a home!

I'll be at the Paducah show today! email ...

Lone Cabin+ Red Wagon Book Giveaway from Humble Quilts

Here is some progress from the Lone Cabin quilt.

Carrie was out of town and used that time to do hand applique on these.

Christy is doing hand applique with a buttonhole stitch.

More of Christy's

I got my cornstalks appliqued. I only know they are cornstalks because that is what the book calls them! hahaha

Here is Michelle's log cabin.

I've got to get back to the pesky stars!

Laurie gave me a book that has this pattern in it. It has some damage and she cannot sell it. I know several of you were looking ...

Primitive Lone Cabin from Humble Quilts

Here is what I have so far. I've added the 3 stars.

Here's the version that was in the book. I have done these primitive stars this way, but I was having a hard time wrapping my brain around it this time.

Mine turned out backwards, which isn't a big deal, I just had to remember how to do the other 2 so they looked the same.

I wasn't a fan.

So I opted for electric quilt and came up with my own version that I paper pieced.

They are certainly primitive!! Now that I've ...

Lone Cabin Part 3 from Humble Quilts

Here are my latest blocks of the Red Wagon quilt.

This is what I have so far. I actually moved my angel heads too so I like them better.

Beth H. made this quilt and I asked if she minded if I shared it here. Isn't it charming? Thanks Beth!

Have a wonderful week!
